The Tripod of a Claim: Why a Compliant Estimate Is Essential

Every insurance claim rests on full policy compliance. That starts with the insured submitting a Sworn Proof of Loss (SPOL) backed by a detailed, itemized damage estimate. This isn't just for Public Insurance Adjusters (PIAs)—it's mandatory for contractors, attorneys, courts, and anyone handling estimates. A compliant estimate delivers critical facts for all parties, no matter their role or stake.

Why It Matters:
Estimating must align with the policy, loss facts, and state laws—the "tripod" of a claim. This ensures fairness, transparency, and accountability, protecting the insured while blocking carrier manipulation.

Bottom Line:
A detailed, compliant estimate is non-negotiable for every claim. It's the core of contractual duties, a valid SPOL, and a fair settlement—regardless of who creates it.What most overlook: Mastering estimates can mean the difference between thriving independently or scraping by at a 9-5. It's a skill that opens doors across industries, from PIAs to contractors.PIAs (new or seasoned): Get hired to write estimates for others.

Contractors/Roofers: Know the full process inside out.We deliver hands-on training on the estimating and field side. Side of the fence? Irrelevant. Estimates shouldn't vary wildly—unless someone's clueless on policies or systems. Can you rebuild it on paper... then defend it against the policy and best practices?
